Iranian documentary to go to Nigerian short film festival

Iranian documentary ‘Death of Kariz’ has been selected to be screened at the 2018 edition of the Inshort Film Festival in Nigeria.

Written and directed by Abbas Heidari, the Iranian documentary is about the drought of Now Deh-e Gonabad village and explores a qanat in this region which is dried.

Some of ‘Death of Kariz’ crew members are director’s consultant Mohammad Baradaran, cinematographer and editor Ali-Akbar Esmaeeli and the producer is Iranian Youth Cinema Society office in Gonabad.

Some awards such as Best Short Feature Film, Best Dramatic Short Film, Best Animated Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Role will be given to the winners.

The festival is targeted at emerging filmmakers, student filmmakers and tele-movies of up to 30 minutes length.

A number of short films from around the world are submitted to this festival which will be held December on 27 to 29.
